• The Avalon Oracle is a magnificent deck of cards that features 46 beautifully illustrated cards that pictures the time, nature and people in the Avalonia era.

• As I was looking at each card through the deck, one particular card had me, “OMG!” and “Awww”. This card is called Moon 3, Moon of Transformation. This card is by far the most beautiful of all. This card has an air to an animal haven. The clouds are very vivid. There are animals circling the image and each other. Below the image there is a black rooster who appears to have found a gold nugget. Above it, entwining with the clouds, there is a white rabbit, a fawn dog, a grey lamb, a light brown hawk and a fawn owl. This truly is my favorite card because it shows my love for animals. When this card is drawn, it is asking you to demonstrate what you have learned from past experiences.

• The second card is quit beautiful in its own way and many mystics and Avalon fans may love it. In this card there is a person dressed in a blue hood who is sailing on a shallop. It is dawn and from the water emerges a celestial being that glows in a frost blue color. This being is holding a sword pointed up in the air. When this card appears in a reading, it is telling you that the end of a struggle is coming.

• The last card is a nice one. In this image we have the Goddess Rhiannon siting in her throne. Passing by her is her white horse. She is dressed in a red dress and in her right hand she is holding what appears to be a wand with different branches that have pears attached to the tips. When she appears in a reading, she is telling you to stand strong and to not let anyone bring you down. Stay strong for what you believe.

• The back of the cards is reversible. It is not recommended that you read the cards in reverse. The image for the back of the cards is pretty neat. The image consists of a round stone that has two circles joint together, creating an infinity sign. The top and bottom part of the image has a blend of entwined wires and on the side white flowers.

• The texture of the cards is semi-sturdy and shuffle well. The cards are glossy and feel really nice. They are approximately “4 X 5”.

• The cards are stored in a beribboned magnetic box.

• The text booklet is written by Jhenah Telyndru. This book contains 128 pages. The book starts off with a short Introduction and it contains 7 seven pages and each page demonstrates how the cards are grouped into different categories. After that, there are two page titled “The Sight and Synchronicity”. Then the meanings of the cards are introduced to you. There are 7 groups, all which contain a group of 5 to 13 cards. This groups are, Cycle One: The Five Seeds of Wisdom. Cycle Two: The Avalon Cycle of Healing. Cycle Three: The Goddess of Avalon. Cycle Four: The Thirteen Moons of Avalon. Cycle Five: The Nine Morgens. Cycle Six: The Three Realms and Cycle Seven: The Cyclic Journey. Each page within those 7 groups contains a section that gives you information and meanings of the cards. The pages for each cards are organized by Card Description, Key Words, Quest, Divinatory Meaning and Affirmation. After all of this you will come across a section that will provide different card spreads. The spreads are, Single Card Draw, The Avalonia Cycle of Healing Spread, The Awen Spread, The Ninefold Spread, The Three Realms Spread, The Mirrors Spread, The Three Cauldrons Spread and The Five Seed Spread.

• The illustrations for each card was done by Emily Brunner. The art is computerized, via Photoshop. The art is very soft and nice. The art makes detail in each card stand out and gives a proper theme to the deck as a whole.

• I’m not a big fan of the Avalon, but I do know many people who are. When I saw this deck I felt that it would be appreciate for Avalon lovers and felt that this deck had so much to offer. I was blown away by the book and all the information that it includes for each card. I was also taken that it features Goddesses (I wish it would of included more Goddesses, but I know that the ones that were there were pivotal for the theme of this deck.) The divinatory information is filled with too much information for you to use and the descriptions of the cards really helps you understand each card. I highly recommend this deck to all Pagan/Wicca/Avalon lovers. To buy it, click here.
